The one-liner

PKTD is a privacy-first, on-device receipt scanner built for Canadian taxes — it reads receipts on your iPhone, captures GST/HST, keeps business-mileage records, and exports accountant-ready reports, without your receipt images ever leaving your device.

Boilerplate

PKTD is an AI receipt scanner and expense tracker for iPhone, made by Lumin Marketing Group, a small team in Edmonton, Alberta. It is built specifically for Canadian freelancers, sole proprietors, gig workers, and small businesses — the people who dread tax season and have historically been served only by corporate-grade tools. PKTD runs OCR on-device, captures GST/HST, PST and QST per receipt, keeps trip details and business-mileage records, and produces accountant-ready PDF and CSV exports. Privacy is the design constraint, not a feature: there is no sign-up, receipt images stay on the device, and optional AI parsing sends only redacted text — never the image.

The story

PKTD started with a problem our four-person Edmonton team had ourselves: carrying, sorting, and tracking receipts had begun to feel like a job of its own. We wanted saving a receipt to feel as easy as taking a photo, while keeping Canadian records and user control at the centre of the product. Read the full PKTD story and meet the core team.
